That is, if you’re watching the movie from the comfort of your own home. If you are in the house of a friend or getting your hair braided when this movie is playing, you have already left the comfort of your home. So ignore that last part after ‘Lagos.’
But read on …
If you are like me and you grew up in Lagos and hardly ever left that city, then maybe you’ll understand me.
Nollywood movies, when they are not shot in Lagos or Abuja are shot in any of the other states in the country. For many of us who never got a chance to really visit other parts of Nigeria, Nollywood offers us a rare look into the way other parts of the country look like and sometimes, how they operate.
I have to admit though that I would love to see more movies where the storyline revolves around a particular region, and where the entire story is shot in a state where movies are not regularly shot e.g. Kogi State, Benue State.
My conclusion: Every town outside Lagos still kinda looks like Lagos. Plus or Minus development sha.
What thinkest thou?
