It’s Friday! Or Friyay for some folks. 🙂
Before the weekend officially begins, I will share some excerpts and pictures from Castle of Newborns, my latest picture book for children. The illustrations were created by Svitlana Liuta.
Enjoy!
What the Book is About a.k.a The Synopsis
On a tiny island, off the Western coast of Africa, stands a magnificent castle . . .
The Castle of Newborns.
Timi’s mummy is expecting a baby.
At bedtime, Timi asks his parents that age-old question: “Where do babies come from?” The answer is a story, a wild and wondrous adventure that involves a castle overrun with babies, a baby-hating crocodile and one brave little hero to save them all.
It’s a story that celebrates family, the curiosity of children, the art of storytelling, the precious ritual of bedtime and the imaginative resourcefulness of parents in tricky moments.
Recommended for children ages 3 – 8.
When Children Won’t Go to Sleep, Tell them Bedtime Stories
When children, especially toddlers won’t go to sleep, tell them stories. Children love stories (and some adults too). You can read from a child’s favorite book or make up a story.
It was way past Timi’s bedtime.
But he was wide-eyed, jumping-jacks awake.
But, be prepared for questions. Lots, and lots of questions. In Timi’s case:
“Mummy, Daddy, where do babies come from?”
Timi asked.
His parents got very creative with their answer.
On a tiny island,
off the Western coast of Africa,
stands a magnificent castle . . .
The Castle of Newborns.
Meet King Baby and Queen Baby: Castle of Newborns
Inside the Castle of Newborns, there’s a King and Queen. Okay, let Timi’s daddy tell us in his own words:
Everyone in the castle is a baby!
Even the King and Queen!
The castle is where babies come from before they go off to join their families.“Wow!” said Timi.
“Wow indeed,” said Mummy.
Of course, that’s just the beginning.
